Sadie and Howie

Animal Place asked for a piece for their annual fundraising silent auction held in November. How could I resist.

I included Animal Place's very popular Howie in all his golden glory and then there is Sadie....

Sadie is Animal Place's program coordinator Marji Beach's favorite. Based on her past treatment when she was strictly a dairy cow Sadie was very leery around people. Marji described a breakthough with her in the Animal Place blog HERE.

Sheila, what i love is the positive aura and charm that exudes from all of your work regardless of the subject matter.
This is great and I would know it was yours if I saw it anywhere without your name attached.
Awesome.
Hope your son is pursuing is passions for photography

I think Howie is so very beautiful, Sheila! I just don't think I can read Sadie's story (I get so very emotional), but I am so glad to know she has had a breakthrough! I love the rolling deep, verdant pasture behind Sadie and Howie. 'Course, as Howie was my dad's name, I just feel an affinity to that beautiful guy!

Like Gary said, you have a distinctive style that is charming and positive. I was just admiring Robin's plein air bovines and I come over here and see that you're in the MOO mode, too. COWabunga!!!

I like how the placement of the cows gives depth to the painting, and also shows the personalities you have described. I's sure the cows will raise money for such a good cause.
