Vespa madness!

Even my 15 year old son wants to scoot around Italy on a Vespa one day. Vespas are the ultimate in compact chic transportation. These are all vintage Vespas and I had great fun painting them.
These are three 6x6 artboards I lined up together for the pix.

Hi Sheila,
These are so fun... and well painted. Love the colours! They do look like they would be a blast to ride around on. What a successful day of painting you had! You go girl!

Hi Sheila:
Looks like these would be so much fun to go traipsing around in France...for that matter, anywhere. I can imagine you had fun doing them also, maybe also thinking you'd like to be on one of them.

These are super, my, you have been busy! They are painted wonderfully loose, something I aim for but never quite manage.

Love your Vespas, Sheila! When I was in Italy that's all we heard in the streets. They give such energy to the atmosphere!

ooh, Sheila....scooters! Can I adopt one? Good work...and you know, it's kinda a neat idea to do a series on certain things. You can get interested in something like scooters, or rocks, or tree stumps or something and do several paintings on the subject, and actually do better work because your interest is high. Nice going. Oh...and I tried to make amends for the female overweight over-the-hillers in my latest blog...and highlighted you. :-)

What a neat painting. Shreve Stockton would love this - she has a blog about her Vespa trip across the US. http://vespa-vagabond.blogspot.com/

You have a great fun style - always enjoy your paintings.

So coool, and fun. Your style captures that perfectly with the vivid color and impressionistic strokes.Even though I rode a motorcycle for many years, I alwasy thought these little scooters would be cool to sport about town in.

I love those old vespas. A buddy of mine use to own one when we were teenagers and I would ride that thing everywhere. You didn't need a license, in fact, you still don't if it has a governor on it. My ex-wife still has her scooter. I bought a Harley but I want to sell it.
