Facebook Find
This is the third painting I've used a find on Facebook as inspiration. The first couple of images were of friends. This lovely daughter of a "friend" is someone I've never met and are friends because of Mafia Wars, Cafe World or one of the other games I play on Facebook. I could not resist her three year old carefully bringing up that cup to drink her pink lemonade at her "Tea Party". Lindsay generously allowed me to paint her beautiful daughter Leah.

Adorable!! I've gotten to the point where I can identify your paintings before I see your name. That's a good thing! An identifiable style is the envy of most artists. Your love of blue and dynamic brushwork is impactful.
adorable! were you grinning like an idiot while you painted her?... I would be :)
Sheila, Great job! She is such a cutie! Great brushwork and colors.
I still haven't tried a portrait hopefully soon I will get up the courage to....
Very cute. Like the combinations of colors against the blue too.
Cute, well done, great colors and your finger prints are all over.
It is Sheilas style! No need to check the name.
Love it!
Leah is such a cutie Sheila, I love how she is engaging the viewer with her eyes looking over the cup!
She's beautiful, Sheila!! I saw her on fb but thought I'd come to your blog and comment!! I love everything about her!! You are a very talented lady!!!
You captured the careful attention when kids try not to spill. So well done.
Great painting! You did such a wonderful job capturing her innocent nature and sweet gesture. Enjoyed the narrative.
Youve really got an eye for these things Sheila, such an engaging piece and quite fun I think too)
This is such a delightful painting, Sheila! Your work is just always so stunning to me, such a strong style you have and awesome subjects. This one is no different!

You really captured her sweet face! Love the all blues too!
Sheila, I can not get over how amazing this is! Thank you so much for painting this portrait of my daughter, I will cherish it forever!
Sheila, I love how you handled her hair and even the fork on the table. Looks like this was a fun one!
how sweet!
Sheila, this painting is irresistible--you have captured the careful moment and the child's personality. The composition, palette, and brushwork are excellent. I enjoyed catching up on all your lovely work from the last time I visited and particularly liked "Sauna" and "Wait". You are able to invest spaces and objects with amazing poignancy.
Wow this is wonderful Sheila. YOu always make me smile cutey. I have to start following you on Facebook!!!!
Beautiful Sheila, you have such a way with capturing expressions

She's wonderful, Sheila! You really captured a mischievious
gleam in her eye - bet she's going to blow bubbles in that lemonade! What a great job - the blue really sets off the blond curls! Love it!
OUTSTANDING! Gotta love your brushwork - especially in her hair.

A beautiful little girl! And a great painting of her.
Good grief, Sheila, this is great!!! You seem to get more and more accomplished with each new piece...and this one is just superb.
What a cutie Leah is - it's great when you can use the internet and FB to find these jewels! You did a wonderful job on this one, Sheila! You have captured that special little girl's teatime experience!
Congratulations on this one Sheila. You did a wonderful job.
Aaaaahhhh!!! You're too fast! I can't keep up! This is a Fantastic little portrait! Very striking... I'm guessing you started on a dark canvas, the little bits that peek through give a strong, graphic cohesion to the image. The hair has a wonderful painterly quality. Her expression is captured so perfectly.
And I love the palm trees with the pinkish sky, too!
Adorable! Love the way she is peeking over the cup and your treatment of her hair.
I'm impressed you did a wonderful job.
Really nice, love the colors!
Wow, Sheila, you really got the 'glint' in her eye - her fun expression - that's incredibly hard to do! Perfect. AND yet another (maybe now the only) use for Facebook!
Another amazing job! She's adorable Sheila and a great story!
Jyouzu!
Beautifully done, Sheila, with those luscious strokes that tell me it is your work.
You put me to shame with your SJ Airport piece. I went traveling and don't have much to show for it!
