Commission Piece for Anniversary

This was commissioned by a now blogger friend who found me in Etsy.  Valerie Cesari and hubby were going to  celebrate their first anniversary this month and she asked to to do a painting of an image she had for her present to her handsome hubby.

She was a delight to work with and we together came up with this 8x10 watercolor on Fredrix board.  The beetles represent the couple with their respretive Alma Maters on their backs.

Hi Shiela,

You asked me to try colors in my sketches.. So after a long time I have tried and the result is on my blog. I know it doesn't look very nice and so i have decided to stick to sketching (until i further grow up as an artist) but still i'll be happy if you visit my blog and will give your take on it... ;)

Regards,
gaurav

What an honor to be able to do that for them, and such a sweet gift. She will love it and so will he.

How sweet, Sheila!

This painting has a definite whimsical feel to it.

I love the idea of a painting about love having a tree in it. Something about trees representing love seems so right to me.

Nice touches with the beetles. I'm sure the happy couple is pleased with this keepsake.
