Pakistani Kitty Trio

These are the three cats my friend in Minneapolis has. She used to have them move back and forth with her when she lived 6 months in the States and 6 months in Pakistan however, the quarantine period has gotten too hard for them.

So Cleo, Muffin and Simon stay in Pakistan full time and continue to spoiled by housekeepers and others. I thought their portraits for Mary's Stateside home could keep them company while she and her husband are here.

These are 9x9 oil on canvas.

What a nice idea! And what lovely, lifelike paintings -- the third one's even a teensy bit cross-eyed, as they often are.

You are a good friend. How sweet to paint these for her. They are beautiful!
My cousins have pets that they have to leave behind in the UK for extended periods when they travel. It's just too taxing on them to transport them--even with the relaxed quarantine laws in England now. Flights are rough on animals (4-legged and 2!)

Great job, Shelia! Love the title. The first one has such an elegant pose. I like the way you did that with an efficiency of strokes. The second has such a great attitude and the last...just love that bold brushwork showing his thick coat. The rusty background was the perfect choice against their creamy colors.

Sheila, this are very fine kitty portraits, and should be great substitutes for the "real things." They each have such personality and I'm sure their owners will love that they are looking right at them. Great job!

Sheila, I love the pet portraits, and the enamel pieces are lovely. You are learning so much from your apprenticeship!

I've been out of touch with life getting in the way. I miss checking your blog daily.
