Just for fun

I painted these to take down to a little gift shop in our town. The owner took two of the four paintings I brought to show to her partners.

They are 5x5 and 1.5 inch deep acrylic on canvas.

I have not sold any paintings on ebay [except for a couple of ACEO's that my fellow bloggers so kindly bid on].

I'm going to give it a try.

The Honu listing is here.

The Peace sign listing is here.

There are little 2x2" mini-canvases that I put magnets on the back. What do you think of them? What would you pay for a little painting like this?

Sheila, I am terrible at pricing my work or anyone elses. However, I would be willing to pay up to $10 for such a nice original piece that I could gift to a friend.

Beautifully done. I also like the small pieces you are showing on e-Bay. Very creative!

Hi Sheila
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on my Michael Jackson/cupcake entry. I have enjoyed looking at your work, and you have such an interesting history with the forensic work. I'm glad you are still able to look on the sunny side of things.
Selling on ebay is so random. Its hard to know what people will buy, or what they will pay. It seems that one has to be well known before people want to bid. It is always fun to try it out. I will be back visiting again!

Good luck with your ebay endeavor, Sheila! Another forum for selling your pieces might be etsy.com also. I heard there is another similar to etsy out there, but I cannot remember what it is called. At any rate, these are so cute! All of them. I love the mini canvasses too! Great for a fridge!

Love your loose, 'just for fun' paintings. Nice ideas!

I've found that tiny paintings can take as much time as larger ones, but that many buyers are stuck on a 'price-per-square-inch' mindset. So if it's tiny, they think it should be a tiny price, sadly.

Have a happy Talk-Like-a-Pirate day! (and I liked your cupcakes, too!)

Your paintings look great on eBay! They should do well. My best advice is to stick with it a while. They will come to know you.
Another bit of advice is to use as many good search terms as you can in your title. The title doesn't even have to make sense. Just a bunch of terms buyers would use that apply to what you're selling.

Oh, Sheila, I love these. Put them on a tiny easel, maybe. If you can't get the easels, let me know and I'll get you some. I'd happily pay $10 for them. Maybe even $15. On an easel, $15 for sure, or even $20... Also, you know what you might do is make a little sign-up sheet of sorts - you will paint 1-3 words on a variety of backgrounds for... $20 a shot? The person would order them through the store, and you'd deliver them in a week, or something like that. Paint a bunch of backgrounds with room for words (or images) - and charge $20 each, or $25 on an easel. Or more. People pay more for personalized stuff. xo

YOU HAVE AN AWARD

You've been awarded the Kreativ Blogger Award. You can visit my blog to accept and pass it on to other deserving artists and bloggers.
But if you should choose to pass on this one, I understand.

Congratulations!

Sheila!

I feel like such an imbecile but I never thought about attaching magnets to mini-canvases until now.

That is so clever! I should have thought of that!

Very cute miniature works of art!

$10 could be a reasonable starting price but they could go for more if made more elaborate/personalized as others mentioned.

Neat little art pieces Sheila. I have no idea whart these should sell for. I have the same prob pricing...depends on how you're trying to sell, what it looks like, and 14 jillion other things. These look great and I would think they should bring at least ten.
