Airport Aerobics

Most of us have participated in Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks Blog.

I spent waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time with this one. The disadvantage of submitting it so late is running out of clever titles for one thing and the inevitable comparison one does with the other awesome submissions.

Check out those fabulous paintings on Karin's site HERE!

12x12 oil on board.

Sheila this is such a powerful painting and I love the title. Great use of colors. You convey a sense of urgency too with the individuals you've depicted. I really like it...well worth the time you spent working on it. :)

your title is perfect , airports can have a lot of walking to get to.
Your colors are great too.

Good job, Sheila. Don't think of it as competing with the other artists. Think of it as competing with yourself. Remember the reason you paint isn't to be better or worse than someone else, it's to fulfill an innate need in you. I really like the title, as well. -Don

Great work...love the purple! This challenge looked too challenging to me that I didn't even attempt it.

Very cool Sheila. Love the way those purple lines draw your eye to that spot of yellow and then just dances around the rest. Great Job!

Sheila, what a beautiful painting, and by the way, I've enjoyed your last few posts, but have not made it to many blogs lately to comment. I love your introduction of the purple in the background!

Nice job on a difficult subject.
All that foreshortening and motion is scary, but you handled it well.

A very strong picture, Sheila! I think you did well, here. I loved the tractor too, but I think it was one of those days when my comments just would not post.

Nice, Loose work that shows urgency! Only the most talented can pull this off, Sheila . . . . . . . .which you, obviously, are!

Something about the colors and the way you painted the people gives the scene a sense of "urgency"...as if they are late for the plane. Great job on another difficult subject!
