Vicky Chen - artist
Vicky Chen is a talented printmaker who rents a space in Benny Alba's studio. She graciously let me photograph her at work .
You can see some of her wonderful prints on her website HERE.
This is excellent, Sheila. I hadn't even thought about how the cropping makes the composition of Vicky and her work just right, until I read Edward's comment.
Super brushwork and use of color to convey the creative energy in Vicky's work--I love this piece! And I agree that the composition/cropping is excellent. Well done, Sheila.
You've always been so talented, and especially painting people and animals! I envied your talent in high school art class and always felt like a dork next to you. Great job Sheila!
Sheila you have such a unique and beautiful style with those bold brush strokes and delights of color. I enjoy every piece, truly. Look how intently industrious this lady is! Gorgeous piece!
I love the vitality of your brush strokes - wonderful piece. I checked out Vicky's work -- I am especially taken with her print making. Love the containers and the cranes from the estuary.
Hi Sheila...great job on Vicky. I love your bold use of color and your free expression of brushwork. I can see your joy when you put brush to canvas. Love it.
You've captured the intensity of the artist at work. As I've said before, you have a gift for capturing the personality of the people you paint. I like your choice of an unexpected green background. I checked out her work. Some of her prints are amazing!

Great energy! Love those strong, confident brush strokes. The bright green background is the perfect compliment against those blues.

Very expressive brushwork, Sheila.
I wish I knew more about printmaking, it's a wonderful medium.

Great brushwork and color! Also popped over to see Vicky's work...very nice.
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Sheila, this is really cool. I also like the fact that, to me at least, it even has a sort of "monoprint" feel to it!
