Petalos de Rosa

Petalos de Rosa
20x24 oil on gallery wrapped canvas

Doesn't it always sound more exotic in another language? Pink petals in Spanish [petalos de rosa] gives my painting of my neighbor's cactus flowers an extra punch. As I approached our court, these blooms were a pink spotlight on her lawn. I went and grabbed a few photos and this was the result.

Cette dernière semaine j'ai photographié des cactus en fleur mais les fleurs étaient moins généreuses que les tiennes... J'adore ton interprétation... C'est une véritable explosion de couleurs et une certaine force se dégage de cette peinture. Bravo l'artiste!
gros bisous

Ah Sheila...this is just so stunning. I love that blue limning, so perfect when the shadows and the light mix together with the cactus green. Gorgeous blooms and buds and this is just so pretty!

Gorgeous color on those petals. I have a tube of paint that I use on special occasions named Thio Violet by Grumbacher which is a perfect match for that color.
An excellent painting all the way around, Sheila!
