Limber Linda

[Thanks to Liz Holm for the title inspiration]

I went to visit some friends the other day.  Linda was just sitting so casually but in such an interesting position I had to try and capture her.   As I look at this again, she reminds me of a cat poised on top of the ottoman.  Then again, yoga guru and pretzel also popped up in my mind.

8x10 graphite on paper.

Great sketch, Sheila. I feel like I'm there, and enjoying a cup of tea, it's so immediate and lively. Linda certainly is limber!

Hi Sheila
Your sketch has life. Beautiful the way you captured her, relaxing with a cup of tea.

I wish I could draw people without making them look like gnomes!

I often look at people and see the animal spirits lurking just below the surface! :)

This is very nice, Sheila — you really captured her air of calmness and ease. I love the squiggly lines that are more evident in the enlarged version.

Very nice sketch girl! She has that graceful, zen-like expression that contented cats have when they've found just the right spot. Hummmm...Think I'll go get some tea and see if I can feel the way she looks!

In Portuguese, "Linda" means "gorgeous", and you truly made her look like that!
