Something different....

I was fortunate enough to have Benny Alba show me how to make glass beads a couple of weeks ago. Using a torch to melt slim rods of colored glass onto metal rods was so fun.

I made this crude looking octopus bead and strung it with other beads to give to my daughter for Christmas.

She is not a Sugar & Spice kind of girl so a silly little octopus was right up her alley.

My son took a class at the Pittsburgh Glass Center and I am just amazed at the things you can do with glass. Your bead is wonderful... I know it is not that easy to do.

Wow, very nice! I teach a glass bead making class at the local college and although people do get some interesting beads in the one day class they rarely get anything that looks like something recognizable. You should be very proud of your beautiful bead, great job! Love the colors you chose to put it together with too. I bet your daughter loves it.
