Challenging commission
So you have a client who wants this pose....
but to make sure it's in the right colors...
It takes you much longer than you expect because of the larger size and now you hope that she is happy with the result.
Outstanding work, Miss Sheila! It's always a good idea to have several references to work from, but one in b/w and the other in color, that's hard; however, YOU DID IT! I also really love the turquoise background, you have the orange/blue complimentary thing going and it works beautifully!
This is a terrific piece with tons of personality. Tough to hit a color when the client isn't sure what it is! I am certain that this piece will be a hit.
Congratulations on your commission, Sheila. You did a fabulous job. The cropping and the strong darks are great. And you really got the texture of this handsome pooch's coat.
LOVE this one! Your brushwork is really lovely, Sheila. I see it again and again on your pet portraits which (imho) border on very sophisticated illustration? I just LOVE that expressive style that is so uniquely your's!
I know your client was thrilled with the results. Very challenging indeed, but you pulled it off beautifully! Love that turq. background with the rust in the coat.
