Challenging commission

So you have a client who wants this pose....

but to make sure it's in the right colors...

It takes you much longer than you expect because of the larger size and now you hope that she is happy with the result.

Mina: 16x20 oil on canvas board.

She is ever so happy!! I'm impressed with how you captured her coloring and, more importantly, her truly sensitive inner personality.

I often find Mina to be a stubborn, challenging dog. :)

Thank you so much. I can't wait to see it in person and, of course, see Celeste too. :)

Outstanding work, Miss Sheila! It's always a good idea to have several references to work from, but one in b/w and the other in color, that's hard; however, YOU DID IT! I also really love the turquoise background, you have the orange/blue complimentary thing going and it works beautifully!

This is a terrific piece with tons of personality. Tough to hit a color when the client isn't sure what it is! I am certain that this piece will be a hit.

Yep, nailed it! I would be tickled pink with it if that were my dog. Heck, I'd like it even not being my dog! Who doesn't love a great dog painting!

Congratulations on your commission, Sheila. You did a fabulous job. The cropping and the strong darks are great. And you really got the texture of this handsome pooch's coat.
