Daisy the Maltese

This is the first of three portraits I did for a friend. Her Maltese was rejected as being "showable" because of her pink nose. We made a couple of changes along the way because she wanted her to look more like "Elmo" from Sesame Street.

These are all oil on 6x6 gallery wrapped canvas.

Really love the enlarged image of the Maltese! It shows fascinating brush work and colors. The dark, reflective, eyes are great with the hints of brown color.

Hi Sheila,
You've done it again...Another lovely painting. Yes, yes, to what everybody else said already and great expression, the brushstrokes of fur emanatig out from the center above the nose, so true, so real. Really wonderful shades of purples and grays in the shodow tones. And those dark button eyes!

Well done Shelia! Wonderful texture and color. My maltese has a light brown nose. They said it would turn black, but never did. You really captured the expression :D
