For my Blogger Friends

First of all thank you for all the positive feedback on my landscape from my trip.  I'm flabbergasted because I don't/didn't do landscapes because I didn't think I was very good.

Secondly, I know I am over due for a contest give-away on my blog so I painted this yesterday.  To make up for it, this is a bigger painting; 8x10 on canvas board.  No palette knife work here like the previous.  Thank you Sam Dolman for asking!  I did a little palette knife work on the top clouds.

This is based on a photo I took while we were winding our way through the tourist traffic.  Our prisoners both had lived in Nevada, hence the trip to NV jails, and were giving us bits and pieces of info on the Hoover Dam.

For the contest, I'm looking for ideas.   Instead of a couple days like my Facebook contest, I'm thinking a week.  It could be easy like  "how much was that first pet commission with the two dogs?"  or a little more complicated and esoteric such as the best way to promote my ASAP blog and program.   Please give me suggestions.  This is YOUR contest.

Happy Easter to all....

Hi, it's a very great blog.
I could tell how much efforts you've taken on it.
Keep doing!

Sheila, I love the way you make lemonade out of lemons. It sounds like you gave the transported prisoners a few nice hours and they in turn did some sharing. You may sometimes walk on the dark side, but you look for the silver lining.

Now you know you are a landscape artist as well as a portrait artist of pets and people. Great piece! Versatility can be the spice of life.

Wow, Sheila, for someone who doesn't think they are good at landscape (and why is that, excatly?), you've knocked these right out of the park! Outstanding!!

"I dont do landscapes" ? Sheila i really like it, its very expressive, like you have enjoyed doing it. I like the dark blues and way you have carved out the hills. You should definitely do more, so there!

Really like both of these,Shelia. You are so talented...all of your work is so good.

Thank you for sharing Mike's story with us. You see so much in your line of work. It is a testament to your positive spirit because I can see how one could become very hardened. Your boys are so fortunate to have a Mother who so thoroughly appreciates life and shows it in the way she lives. It is apparent in your words, your art, in everything you do. That's a gift they will take with them for the rest of their lives.

Hi Sheila,

Your works shows a good sense of depth, namely due to the good use of values.
Why make a contest when you can give it to someone who really deserves it ? Me :-)

Kind regards,

José
