Google yourself every now and then...

Funny what happens when you Google yourself sometimes.  I used to find only police stuff but now increasingly it is art related.  [which is good right?]  Today I found a new entry that link to a page on a book written by an instructor I took several classes from.

It's a page from Carrie Stuart Parks book titled "Secrets to Realistic Drawing".  It was a class exercise she gave me during one of her classes.  A better photo and more details are on this post of my blog.

Thanks for humoring me.

Hi Sheila, very interesting to read your old blog post - I only recently discovered your blog so hadn't seen it before. I have Carrie Parks' book Secrets to Drawing Realistic Faces and love it - I'll have to pick this one up too!

Hi Sheila, Thanks for visiting my blog. And I just saw your "Art for Shelter Animals" - a wonderful project! I also spent about past fifteen years in the Bay Area (Oakland, near the Lake Merritt) and just moved down to Southern California last summer. I miss the Bay Area - it's such a unique community with full of art, culture and nice people, although I'm sure there were enough bad apples that you had to chase down before you retired.
I'm glad you are back to your passion - art. I've been a fulltime artist all these years and never get tired of it. It's not easy to make living out of it - especially in this economy - but I'm pretty hopeful and excited about settling in a new place and getting to know new people. I'll be following both of your blogs, so let's keep in touch.

Actually its a good book to have. "Secrets to Drawing Realistic Faces" was like a workbook for us law enforcement types learning how to draw faces, some of them for the first time.

Sheila, that's incredibly cool about the book! You're published! Also enjoyed revisiting the story about the cross-dressing criminal. :-)
