Will work for food...

Cat food that is.  I went to Pet Depot to pick up a check for  my first commission.  The owner didn't have the store checks with her.

One of the clerks for  whom I painted a "pleine air" of her deceased beloved dog during the 'meet the artist' event on March 21st said she was able to not cry for the first time yesterday when she saw her painting of her precious golden retriever

She asked me if I would paint one for her sister whose dog Murphy just passed away at 15 years old.  She said this dog was 'her baby'.  I said of course and she asked how much I wanted for it.  I know she does this job at the pet store for the love of animals not money.  I said she could buy a bag of food for my cats Meatball and Sami.   So paintings like this go easy because of all the love I see in this face.  I'm going to deliver it today and pick up my check for the prior commission.   Things have a way of working out don't they?

That is so great that ur doing that! And the piece is great! I'm actually learning as i keep seeing ur work. I still have much to learn from traditional stuff.

Oh yeah and thnx for the encouragement by the way. I've taught little kids before and i've taught at a college for post graduate students. But i've never taught teens before, and this is their time where they're gonna choose their career. so i've been planning for this kind of help since i went to college so now its coming tru! ^^

I like this one!

It was a smart choice to crop the picture slightly and focus in on the face. Makes for a much more interesting painting IMHO.

You managed to sneak a lot of colors into the fur. Good job with that.

When I clicked onto the larger scan I saw Murphy has two different colored eyes. Too cool!
